In an extremely suggestive position, close to the famous Celle di San Francesco in Sarteano, ancient Franciscan Convent is for sale. Like many of the Capuchin monasteries, this one is also located in an extremely suggestive position immersed in the woods that dominate the medieval village of Sarteano. The convent consisted of a chapel with three arches in front of the churchyard, a rectory, a cloister and cells. The total surface of the property, to be completely restored, is approx. 600 gross square meters with land and wood of approx. 4 hectares with centuries-old chestnut trees. The surrounding wall of the convent that delimits the property is still existing and makes the building extremely private and welcoming. The current convent was founded, or rather renovated, in the mid-1500s on an existing one created by the followers of the Franciscan order to protect and preserve that place that was so dear to the Saint, who, around 1212, stopped in the woods of Sarteano during the days linked to temptations and in which he used to retire in natural caves, creating small cells with a stone bed on which finding a night's rest. The cells are still visible and can be visited in the woods around the property.
